This interview is our initiative to get to know our users a little bit better. We want to hear about your experiences with WP Travel Engine. We want to share your stories with all our users.
To that end, we bring you an interview with Matthew Riv, a satisfied user of WP Travel Engine, who will be sharing his journey and his thoughts on our product. Join us as we explore Matthew’s tale of transformation, all on his website!
Can you tell us about yourself and your travel business?
I’m a camera-shy guy who has made a website using WP Travel Engine for his wife in the hope that we can obtain sales from other countries and become like Klook and other similar websites. However, it seems like a lot of money has to be spent on advertising to achieve this.
When and how did you start your travel business?
I started it in June 2024 and obtained a license to operate a business in July. I started the website using WordPress and watched YouTube for three days to understand how to use Elementor.
What has been the biggest challenge you have overcome in your business?
Not being able to generate organic traffic. No matter how much I post on Facebook, YouTube, etc., I can’t seem to get any customers to book via the website.
What advice would you like to give fellow travel business owners about running a successful travel agency?
My website is currently not successful, so I have no advice to share this time.
What must-have features in a travel website would you suggest to fellow travel business owners?
One feature I would like to see is the ability for customers to add their hotel’s name and address at checkout. It would be very helpful even if this is available in the paid version. I plan to upgrade to the paid version once I have more traffic and sales, as it offers many useful features.
How did you hear about us?
I’m not too sure. Sorry.
Why did you choose WP Travel Engine?
I didn’t know what I was doing to start with as I had never built a website before, and when I started playing with the WP Travel Engine, it seemed very easy to use and almost like I had built it myself. Whilst I have had to ask support some questions, for the most part, it’s extremely easy to understand for a beginner like myself.
What are the three things you love the most about WP Travel Engine?
Simplicity and the support team.
Which add-ons have you used, and how have they benefited you?
Currently, I don’t have any of the paid-for versions. With my fingers crossed, sales will pick up, and then I will be getting myself a lovely add-on.
How satisfied are you with our products/services?
I am very satisfied with your products and services and give you 5 stars.
What suggestions do you have for improving our product and services and offering a better user experience?
The ability for the customer to put their hotel’s name and address in at check-out.
On the itinerary page, it says days, i.e., day one, day two, etc., when you add a number of different itineraries. This doesn’t apply to my programs, and it would be useful if you could change the wording to whatever you wanted instead of it being set to day one, day two, and so on.
