We’ve just released WP Travel Engine v6.5.0, and it brings a better user dashboard, improved email management, and several helpful updates and fixes.
Here’s what’s new:
Revamped User Dashboard
We’ve made major improvements to the User Dashboard to make it more intuitive and easier to use.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s new:
Simplified Dashboard Tabs
The left sidebar is gone – we’ve replaced it with a top navigation bar for Booking, Billing, and Account Details. The interface now uses bold colors, centered trip cards, and improved spacing so everything is easier to find and read.
1. Updated Booking History
The Booking History tab now appears more polished, highlighting the payment status for each booking. Your customer can also access the booking details page with just a single click.

The booking details page has received a do-over in this update. It now displays more useful information like payment info, trip details, and a clear booking summary – all in one place.

2. New Upcoming Trips Tab
WP Travel Engine v6.5.0 offers the new Upcoming Trips tab.
It highlights bookings with pending payments, which are available to view until the trip begins. They can also view booking information, such as deposit amounts and remaining balances due for each trip, at a glance.

3. Redesigned Billing Info
We’ve improved the Billing Info section so it’s easier for your customer to update their billing details, including name, address, phone number, and more.
New users’ billing info is automatically saved when they make their first booking.

4. Improved Customer Account Details
Along with the visual redesign of the account details page, user profiles now support Gravatar images. If a user’s email is linked to a Gravatar account, their Gravatar image will be displayed as the user image, adding a personal touch to the experience.

Auto Account Creation
You can now turn on auto account creation. This means new user accounts are automatically created when someone books a trip for the first time.
How to enable it: Go to your WordPress dashboard, then navigate to WP Travel Engine > Dashboard > User Dashboard. From there, find and enable Create Account Automatically.

Backwards Compatibility
WP Travel Engine 6.5.0 is backward-compatible, which means this update won’t affect your existing data.
All customer data, past bookings, and user accounts will continue to function without interruption when WP Travel Engine is upgraded.
Revamped Email Dashboard
We’ve also simplified the Email Settings in this update.
The previous design, while being efficient, was starting to look a bit too crowded.
So, in this new version, we’ve introduced two simple, easy-to-navigate tabs for email management: the Notifications tab and the Settings tab.

Along with that, we’ve added new features like email testing and the ability to enable or disable email notifications with just a click.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s new:
Notifications Tab
The notification tab is further categorized into Admin and Customer tabs. While the number of email notifications for admins remains the same, you can now send three new notifications for customers:
- Account Registration
- Forgot Password
- Enquiry
Note: Any email templates you created before this update will remain unchanged. To apply the new template design, click ‘Update Templates’ – your current content won’t be changed until then.
Along with these changes and extra templates, we’ve also added features such as:
- Enable/Disable Notification: Before, you could only turn all admin emails or all customer emails on or off at once. Now, you can choose exactly which emails to send.
- Send Test Email: This feature helps you verify that your email settings are correct and preview how your email will appear. It also ensures it is being delivered successfully before reaching your actual users.
- Personalization tags: Added more tags like:
- {trip_booking_details}
- {trip_payment_details}
- {booked_trip_name}
- {customer_full_name}
- {trip_start_date}
- {trip_end_date}
- {no_of_travellers}
- {trip_total_price}
- {trip_paid_amount}
- {trip_due_amount}
- {site_admin_email}
- {password_reset_link}
Settings Tab
All essential email management settings have now been moved to a single tab. You can find settings for:
- Sender Details: Adjust the sender details shown in your emails by setting the name, sender email, and “Reply-To” address.
- Branding: Add your brand’s identity to every email by uploading a custom header logo and personalizing the footer text.
- Test Email: Configure the recipient address and instantly send a test email to preview how your message will appear in customers’ inboxes.

Faster Checkout for Returning Users
Customers no longer have to re-enter traveler info when making partial or remaining payments. This makes checkout quicker and easier.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed incorrect display of already booked dates on the frontend.
- Resolved missing traveler information on the thank-you page post-checkout.
- Corrected errors in minimum participant calculations after plugin updates.
- Fixed UI breaks when using the WPTE Elementor widget on single trip pages.
- Added missing traveler information to exported booking CSV files.
New Theme Alert!
We are also introducing a new child theme for Travel Monster – Wildlife Travel. It is perfect for wildlife and adventure tours websites.

With the Wildlife Travel theme, you can create websites for:
- Safari & Big‑Game Tours
- Eco‑Lodge & Hiking Reservations
