With the release of version 6.0.5, we focused especially on improving the plugin’s performance. Additionally, we worked on enhancing other features to make your experience even better.

What’s New in WP Travel Engine v6.0.5?

1. Performance Settings

Performance Settings

To help your website run more efficiently, we’ve introduced new Performance Settings in the global settings of WP Travel Engine. These include:

  • Optimized Loading: This option conditionally loads only the necessary assets, speeding up your site’s loading time.
  • Lazy Loading: This feature delays loading various media on your single trip pages until needed, improving performance. It includes:
    • Map Lazy Loading: Delays loading map iframes until user interaction.
    • Image Lazy Loading: Loads images only when required.

Note: To access the Map Lazy Loading and Image Lazy Loading options, you must first enable the Lazy Loading feature.

How can you enable Performance setting options?

  • In your WordPress dashboard, go to the WP Travel Engine > Settings.
  • Now, navigate to the Performance tab.
  • Under the General tab, you will find the Optimized Loading and Map Lazy Loading options. You can enable these options as you need.
  • Click the Save button to apply your changes.

2. Additional Settings in Pricing Widget Layouts (For smaller devices)

As noted in our previous update, we’ve improved the pricing widget layouts for mobile devices.

  • Compact Layout: You can now make the pricing widgets more compact, using less screen space.
  • Inquiry Info: You can choose to show or hide the inquiry details in the pricing widget.
  • Show WhatsApp: Add your contact number and display a WhatsApp icon so that users can contact you directly.

How can you enable these options?

  • In your WordPress dashboard, go to the WP Travel Engine > Settings. 
  • Navigate to the Display section and select the Single Trip tab.
  • Now, scroll down to find the new options marked with a “New” tag. 
  • Enable the Compact Layout option and hide Inquiry Info if you prefer. 
  • Then again, enable the WhatsApp icon and add your contact number.

  • Click the Save button to apply your changes.

3. Replacement of Owl Carousel with Splide

To address performance issues, we’ve replaced Owl Carousel with Splide in the gallery section.

Splide provides a smoother and more attractive sliding experience for your images or content.

Bug Fixes

  • We’ve fixed the issue where placeholders were not displaying correctly. Now, they show up as expected.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where payment instructions weren’t displaying correctly for Direct Bank Transfer and Check Payments. Your settings are now accurately reflected on the checkout page.

What are we building next?

1. New Interface for Single Trip Page Backend

We’re in the final stage of the new design for the Single Trip backend. You can expect this update to be available after the following two updates.

2. More Performance Improvements Features
